This new Museum reproduces the tuscan city of San Gimignano as it was in Medieval Times, it’s something extraordinary, an open window on the past, through a vision of all the medieval towers, the squares, the shops, the people; all works were done by hand by skillful artisans. You will admire storyboards, multi-media exhibits, street scenes, and a ceramic recreation of the city as it was in 1300. Together with a team of artisans and historians, the two genial Master Artists, Michelangelo and Raffaello Rubino, have faithfully recreated San Gimignano as it once existed. Here, you will learn, why most of the 72 towers collapsed and you will also discover why the Via Francigena route, connecting Rome to the north of Italy, was so important for the city’s growth.
