Between spirituality and the pleasure of flavours: tasting wines and the Gregorian chants among the Tuscan hills.
Programme
We propose that this tour starts for you at the beautiful Sant’Antimo Abbey, which according to legend, was erected by Charlemagne in thanks for a miracle received: his soldiers who recovered from a plague.
We will accompany you to meet one of the monks of the Abbey, who are famous for their Gregorian chant. If you would like to attend the mass, it is necessary to arrive one hour earlier at the Abbey.
After the visit to the Abbey, you will be accompanied to a notable winery, where you can visit the cellar where an extraordinary wine is conserved; followed by, in the winery’s typical ambience, and in which, at lunch, you will be able to taste the wines they produce.
At the end of lunch, there will be a short walk in the centre Montalcino, a charming medieval town, noted for its production of the famous Brunello wine.
Mid afternoon we will accompany you in the exclusive and famous Castello Banfi cellar, for a guided visit. Then, in the castle wine shop, taste the wine, admire the sunset behind the stupendous hills.
